(Baltimore, USA) |
is Director of the Space Telescope Science Institute, which operates the Hubble Space Telescope and prepares its successor, the James Webb Space Telescope. | |

Charles Beichman
(Pasadena, USA) |
leads the
"Terrestrial Planet Finder"
mission at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. |

Malcolm Fridlund
(ESTEC, Noordwijk) |
is project scientist for the "DARWIN" mission at ESA. | |

Thomas Henning
(Heidelberg) |
is Director of the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy, where he leads the research on Star and Planet Formation. | |

Michel G.E. Mayor
(Geneva) |
is Director of the Geneva Observatory and a pioneer of the research on extrasolar planets. In 1995, he discovered the first extrasolar planet, the famous object 51 Peg b. |

Jill Tarter
(Mountain View, USA) |
is an expert on Exobiology. She holds the Bernard M. Oliver Chair for
SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) and heads the SETI institute. |
