Munich's Franz-Josef-Strauss
Airport (code: MUC) is a large international airport with daily flights
from many European and North American gateway cities. There are at least two
ways to get to Ringberg from the airport, by automobile and by train.
- Renting a car is a very sensible option, particularly if groups of participants are
travelling together. All major international rental-car companies service Munich airport.
Follow the instructions for travelling by car.
- Munich airport is tied into the the surface train
(S-Bahn)
network, and getting to Munich's central railway station
("Hauptbahnhof") is fairly easy. Afterwards follow the instructions for using
the railway.

If you are in Munich's central railway station ("Hauptbahnhof") you must purchase
a ticket for Tegernseee. When you arrive in Tegernsee, take a taxi for the last few
kilometers to Ringberg Castle. The
schedule of the "Deutsche Bahn" provides further information.

From Munich follow the Salzburg Autobahn (A8) to the Holzkirchen exit. Drive south on the
Bundesstraße 318 (B318) until you reach Gmund. Continue on B318 through Bad Wiessee
and past the turnoff for Weißach, until you come to a traffic light. Turn right on
Bundesstraße 307 (B307) toward Achensee. After approximately one kilometer you will
see a sign indicating the turn-off to Schloß Ringberg. A detailed map can be found on
the websites of
MapQuest (Ringberg Castle is located at the Schloßstraße).
