A contract with the Astronomical Society of the Pacific (http://www.astrosociety.org/index.html)
has been arranged to publish the proceedings of our conference.
Talk Contributions:
We will have ample space for including the high number of talks in our
proceedings. Since we have just two basic types of talks ("normal"
talks of 20 minutes and review talks of 40 minutes length), we intend to
scale the written contributions as follows:
Review talks : 10 - 12 pages
Normal talks : 6 - 8 pages
Although we refrained from the more and more popular policy to request
the written contributions already before the conference, we want to publish
the proceedings fast. Therefore, we need the cooperation from the authors.
Please plan some time for writing your contribution within two months after
the end of the conference.
DEADLINE: November 23, 2007
This will help us a lot in order to obey the tight schedule given to us
by the ASP publishers.
The contributions have to be written in LaTeX, the figures should preferentially
be done as encapsulated postscript files (eps). We provide here a zip file
containing a template LaTeX file to be used by the authors, the ASP style
file, and some documentation: MSF07.zip
(Note that the style file is slightly altered by us according to the
latest recommendations recently given by the ASP publishers. Therefore,
it might not be identical to the one downloadable on the ASP homepage.)
You can submit your final paper either via ftp:
ftp ftp.mpia-hd.mpg.de
Login as anonymous with your email as password.
cd pub/MSF07/incoming
Put your paper there as a single tar-file with a name clearly identifying the author. Please, send a
confirmation email to beuther(at)mpia.de. If the files are not too
large, you can also directly submit them via email to
beuther(at)mpia.de.
PLEASE NOTE: Figures and images will
be printed in black & white, unless the authors explicitly ask for colour
printing. Note that images may be printed in colour at a cost of $975.00
for the first image in the volume and $500.00 for each additional image.
So, choose wisely if colour
is really necessary. (For uploading your contribution to the preprint
server it is of course at your discretion to use a colour version of your
graphics.)
FURTHERMORE NOTE, that for the proceedings
contribution to be published in printed form, we need
a filled out and signed copyright form from you. The copyright
form is included as a PDF document in the above mentioned MSF07.zip archive
file. The first author should fill out the form. Use as title for the proceedings:
"Massive Star Formation: Observations confront Theory", H. Beuther et al.
(eds.).
You can fax the form to us. Our fax number is: +49 (0)6221 528 246
Please mark clearly on a cover page, that the fax is c/o H. Beuther/MSF07
to avoid confusion, since this fax machine is used by many people at MPIA.
Poster Contributions:
Due to the high number poster contributions registered, it will not be
possible to include these in the printed version of the proceedings. However,
pdf-files of the posters will be made available on our conference website.
The posters are a substantial contribution to our conference. To highlight
this further, there was a Poster Summary Talk by Malcolm Walmsley at the
end of the conference, and the two creators of the best posters (chosen
by a small committee) have been given the opportunity to give a short oral
presentation of the poster content after the Poster Summary Talk.
