A 3D View on Galaxy Evolution: from Statistics to Physics - MPIA Summer Conference 2015

The Max Planck Institute for Astronomy (MPIA) is happy to announce the 4th annual MPIA summer conference, A 3D View on Galaxy Evolution: from Statistics to Physics. This 5 day conference will take place July 6 - 10, 2015, at the Haus der Astronomie in Heidelberg, Germany.

This meeting aims to bring together scientists from the optical and radio communities working on this topic in nearby galaxies. With the successful start of powerful spectral imagers such as ALMA, Jansky VLA, MUSE as well as several large optical IFU surveys like CALIFA, SAMI and MaNGA under-way this topic should see major progress in the next years.  A meeting that brings together these communities, as well as theorists, is timely and necessary.
