Welcome to my page
I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy
(
MPIA) and am part of the "
Galactic Nuclei" research group led by
Dr. Nadine Neumayer within the
Galaxies and Cosmology Scientific Department.
My interests focus on understanding the formation, evolution and
often coexistence of the most massive objects observed in the nucleus
of galaxies, i.e. Nuclear Star Clusters (NSCs) and/or (Super)Massive
Black Holes (SMBHs). Such objects are also linked to massive globular
clusters (GCs) and Ultra Compact Dwarf galaxies (UCDs).
To test theoretical models of their formation and evolution, we employ
(imaging & spectroscopic) observational techniques covering
a wide spectral range (from UV to near-IR). Robust knowledge of the observational properties of such compact
stellar systems in galaxies of different morphological type provides theoretical models with empirical constrain to better understand and reconstruct galaxy formation history.
