Conference fee: The registration fee is 250 euros. It will cover all meals (5 lunches, 4 dinners) and the visit of Varenna (optional). The registration fee will be charged at the villa upon arrival.
Location: The meeting will be hosted in the Villa Vigoni, located in Menaggio, by the Lake Como.
Participants will be staying in surrounding villas or in the Hotel du Lac, and will pay either the Villa or the hotel for their stay. The rates are the following: in the Villa, a room with single occupancy will cost 93 euros, while a double/matrimonial room will cost 135 euros (for the two persons). A single room at the hotel will cost 120 euros, while a double/matrimonial room will cost 132 euros (for the two persons). Students will be hosted in the dependance villa of the Villa Vigoni, at a lower rate (82 euros for single occupancy, 120 euros for a double room). All prices include breakfast.
All meals will be served at the Villa Vigoni.
How to reach the Villa: The nearest international airports are located in Milan (Malpensa, Linate). There are train stations in Milan, Como, Varenna and Lugano.
We will organize collective transfers from airports and train stations, therefore please let us know if you would like to use this service, and send us your arrival date/time at your earliest convenience.
For those coming by car, you can reach the Villa Vigoni as follows:
From Italy:
follow the highway Milano-Como-Chiasso (A9) and take the exit Lago di Como, which is the last one before leaving Italy. Follow the road signs indicating Menaggio along the Lake Como. Once you reach the traffic lights in Menaggio, follow the directions towards Lugano until you need to turn right towards Loveno. Follow the signs leading you to Villa Vigoni. From Como this journey takes about 45 minutes.
From Switzerland:
follow the highway 2 (Gotthard-Autobahn) till the exit Lugano Nord. From Lugano, follow the road signs indicating St. Moritz. Once you pass the Swiss-Italian border in Gandria, follow the directions to Porlezza/Menaggio. Once arrived in Menaggio, follow the directions towards Loveno di Menaggio and Villa Vigoni. From Lugano this journey takes about 45 minutes.
The parking lot is located near the parish church of Holy Lorenzo and Agnese in Via Catulla Mylius Vigoni, approximately 100 meters below the Villa. Parking right in front of the Villa is possible only for people with disabilities and in exceptional cases.
Visit of Varenna:
On the wednesday afternoon, we will offer the possibility to visit the city of Varenna. Once in Varenna, there will be the option to hike uphill and visit the Castello di Vezio, or to spend some free time in the town.
For the hike, we recommend bringing sneakers or comfortable shoes.
