COSMOS: The Cosmic Evolution Survey

A pan-chromatic imaging and spectroscopic survey (PI: Scoville, CalTech) of a 2 square-degree field designed to probe galaxy and SMBH (super-massive black hole) evolution as a function of cosmic environment.

NUGA: NUclei of GAlaxies

A high angular resolution survey of the molcular gas properties (distribution, kinematics) in the central kiloparsec of Low Luminosity AGNs (Active Galactic Nuclei) aimed to study the fueling mechanims of their central black holes. Complemented by an imaging survey of the atomic hydrogen emission using the VLA (HI-NUGA).

LINC-NIRVANA: The German-Italian Beam Combiner for the LBT

LINC-NIRVANA (LN) is an imaging interferometer that is working in the near-infrared. MPIA is leading an international consortium of institutes in building LN for the Large Binocular Telescope at Mt Graham in Arizona.
