I am a senior post-doctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy (MPIA), currently working within the Pan-STARRS1 (PS1) Collaboration. My research interest is the structure, substructure, kinematics, and chemical composition of the Galactic halo and of the Galaxy in general. Stellar tracers, such as main-sequence and RR Lyrae stars, are the tools I frequently use to map the Galaxy and I spend a lot of time selecting these from wide-area astronomical surveys such as SDSS, LINEAR, PTF/iPTF, and Pan-STARRS1.
