MoogStokes

Updated on June 29, 2013

As part of my Thesis, I modified the MOOG spectral synthesis program to account for the effects of polarized radiative transfer, allowing MoogStokes to model the effects of spectra under the influence of strong stellar magentic fields.

CounterPoint

CounterPoint, a python program which accounts for Zeeman splitting of atomic lines, complements MoogStokes by creating a list of Zeeman-split absorption lines in a Moog-readable format.

DiskoBall

Updated on June 29, 2013

Since the composite spectrum of a star is a combination of light produced at different areas across the stellar disk, MoogStokes synthesizes emergent spectra at numerous locations, as a function of stellar and magnetic field geometry. DiskoBall is a suite of Python routines which allows the user to synthesize a disk-averaged spectrum from the individual emergent spectra, accounting for rotational broadening, limb darkening, and projected area.
