DESCRIPTION:Given the immense amount of information that can be gained from
cloud-scale (~100pc) resolution multi-wavelength datasets on nearby galax
ies like those provided by the PHANGS (Physics at High Angular resolution
in Nearby GalaxieS) survey and well as the tremendous progress made in sim
ulating the star formation process in nearby galaxies at pc resolution\, i
t seems timely to bring together experts from both the theoretical and obs
ervational side to discuss how to answer pressing open question related to
the physics of the star formation process (including interstellar medium
 (ISM)).
