Building maintenance

Building services

The Operating Technology Department is responsible for all the technical equipment and infrastructure in the Institute, as far as maintenance and servicing are concerned. This includes:

  • Facility and energy management
  • Building automation
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Heating, refrigeration, ventilation and sanitary engineering
  • Fire alarm technology
  • Telecommunications Technology
    • Emergency call systems

These systems must be on permanent standby in the course of a permanent supply, but must also meet and exceed the necessary technical standards to the same extent in order to meet the constantly growing expectations. In order to take advantage of energy saving potentials, it is constantly being examined which measures are most sensible for reducing energy costs and how this can be solved on a technical level.

The tasks of the employees of the Technical Service also include

  • Monitoring of the building control system (GLT) and support of MSR measures
  • The technical supervision of external services
  • The technical optimization of existing electrotechnical plants
  • The operation of the central power supply and emergency power supply
  • Participation in the planning of new electrical installations
  • The planning and implementation of emergency measures
