The MPIA is building the METIS instrument (camera and spectrograph for the mid-infrared) for the ELT. With the series Inside MPIA, the channel “Urknall, Weltall und das Leben” (Big Bang, Universe and Life) accompanies the construction of this instrument, which is already to be used at the ELT at the time of the “First Light”.
