International Max Planck Research School
Doctoral program in astronomy and astrophysics
The Max Planck Society and Heidelberg University jointly operate the International Max Planck Research School for Astronomy & Cosmic Physics (IMPRS-HD) at Heidelberg University. Highly qualified students can enroll at the IMPRS-HD to pursue a doctorate in astronomy or astrophysics at Heidelberg University.
The students conduct the associated research work at the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy, the Max Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics or the Center for Astronomy of the University of Heidelberg.
The international and German students receive contracts for up to four years in order to carry out the research required for the doctorate. IMPRS-HD is an independent part of the Heidelberg Graduate School of Fundamental Physics. IMPRS-HD is coordinated by MPIA's Christian Fendt.
