Double award: MPIA-Mechanical Engineering Workshop and Leon Schädel receive MPG prizes

25. Oktober 2019

After 2014 and 2016, the mechanical engineering workshop of MPIA was once again awarded in 2019 by the Max Planck Society (MPG) for its special commitment to vocational training. In addition, Leon Schädel received the MPG Trainee Award.

Trainer Award for Mechanical Workshop

Every year, the Max Planck Society (MPG) honors three of its institutes for their special commitment to vocational training. Once again, the Precision-Mechanics-Workshop (Head: Armin Böhm, Supervisor for trainees: Stefan Meister) of the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy (MPIA) is among the prize winners. With this award, the MPG and the prize committee would like to express their appreciation for the achievements of all instructors. The prize is intended to highlight institutes that are exceptionally committed to the training of young people - for example through innovative training concepts, the intensity of supervision, offers for cooperation with external partners or due to the provision of additional qualifications.

Trainee Award for Leon Schädel

Furthermore, since 2007, the Max Planck Society has been awarding the annual Trainee Prize for outstanding achievements in vocational training. With this award, the MPG honors not only the outstanding professional and academic performance during training, but also the personal development and social commitment of the trainees. The prize has already been awarded several times to MPIA. This year's award winner is Leon Schädel from MPIA's mechanical workshop, who is being honored for his outstanding achievements.
