MICADO Relay-Optic (RO) and MICADO Calibration Assembly (MCA)

RO-MCA: CAD model of the MICADO RO and MCA final design. The RO consists of an optical bench made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP), an optical assembly made of three flat, motorized tip-tilt-piston mirrors and three powered mirrors of up to ~500 mm in diameter, the MICADO calibration assembly including its deployable flat mirror and a cover to protect all opto-mechanical components on top of the bench.
RO design process: Schematic representation of the design process implemented to develop the RO. First, Finite Element Analysis (FEA) are performed on the individual mirror mounts to minimize the mirror surface deformations. At a second stage, the mirror surface deformations and the position of the mirrors are combined in an overall simulation to estimate the optical performance of the RO.
