The Gaia-ESO Survey

The Gaia-ESO Survey

The Gaia-ESO Survey is a high resolution spectroscopic survey targeting 100,000 stars to provide complementary stellar parameters and abundances to the astrometric measurements of the Gaia Mission. This survey will provide valuable observations for studying the kinematic and chemical history of the Milky Way. The spectral analysis is being done simultaneously by several nodes in order to compare the results of different methods and reduce the final uncertainties by characterizing the systematics introduced by each method. Our group is one of the nodes computing stellar parameters elemental abundances for the Gaia-ESO Survey using the Spectroscopy Made Easy (SME) code. Our analysis will include non-LTE abundance measurements for Li, O, Na, Mg, Al, Si, and Fe.
