Laura Kreidberg

Laura Kreidberg is interested in exoplanets large and small. Her research focuses on atmosphere characterization, with the goal of turning these distant planets into real places, revealing what they are like and how they came to be.

An observer by trade, Kreidberg is an extensive user of space-based telescopes. As director of the APEx Department, she combines observation and modelling of exoplanets to investigate their chemical composition, 3D structure, atmospheric dynamics, and potential habitability. Kreidberg is also a co-I on several instrumentation projects that will enable major advances in ground-based observations of exoplanets, including ELT/METIS and GRAVITY+.
